Lithological and geochemical features of Georgievsky, Bazhenov, and Kulomzinsky formations in the Archinsky area (Nyurolsky Depression, Tomsk Oblast)

Lithological, geochemical, and geophysical features of Kimmeridgian-Volgian-Berriasian Georgievsky, Bazhenov, and Kulomzinsky formations in the Archinsky area (Nyurolsky Depression, Tomsk Region) are studied. Rock types of Georgievsky, Bazhenov, and Kulomzinsky formations are characterised on the basis of integrated rock composition analysis; modern methods of the obtained analytical data processing and interpretation were used, including the studies of organic matter, together with well logging results. Georgievsky Formation is represented by siltstone, argillaceous-siliceous-carbonate and siliceous-argillaceous mudstones. Bazhenov Formation is composed of siliceous-argillaceous and argillaceous-siliceous, argillaceous-siliceous-carbonate, kerogen-argillaceous-siliceous mudstones, kerogenic siliceous mudstone and carbonate; Kulomzinsky Formation is represented by siliceous-argillaceous mudstone. Analysis of iron pyritization degree and phenanthrene to dibenzothiophene ratio showed that at the time of kerogen-argillaceous-siliceous, kerogen-siliceous-argillaceous and siliceous mudstones formation, highly reducing conditions existed, while at the time of Kulomzinsky Formation siliceous-argillaceous mudstone formation, the conditions were moderately reducing. According to composition of biomarker hydrocarbons, organic matter of Bazhenov and Kulomzinsky formations is aquagenic and is in the very beginning of main oil generation phase.
